Once you are approved for the loan, the money is paid directly to the store to pay for building or renovations.

To apply for the loan, visit any of the participating home improvement retail stores to complete the application process. You will need to provide your valid South African ID or drivers’ licence and payslips and bank statements.
The home finance solution offered by Real People Loans is driven by partnerships formed with building retailers who provide finance in-store at the point of sale. The institution has created partnerships with building companies to provide comprehensive home improvement loans.
You will then get an SMS from Real People notifying you of your loan application outcome. Once your loan is approved, the money is paid directly to the home improvement store. The store will then make arrangements with you to deliver your material to your home.

What do you need to qualify?
- Be permanently employed, self-employed or employed under contract.
- Earn a salary of at least R2000 per month and have your salary electronically deposited into a bank account
- Be between the ages of 18 and 64 years old.
