Did you know you can earn FnB Checkers rewards at any Checkers store? Checkers is a retailing store under the Shoprite Group of Companies. It is the largest supermarket retailer in Africa. It operates more than 950 supermarkets and liquor shops across Africa. eBucks can be earned and spent at supermarkets in the Checkers, Shoprite, Checkers Hyper, and Usave brands as well as all branches of Shoprite and Checkers LiquorShop in South Africa.

FNB customers who qualify for rewards can now earn up to 15% back in eBucks, or in the case of Smart transmission account holders, up to 15% back in pre-paid airtime. This includes their purchases from Checkers, Shoprite, Checkers Hyper, USave and LiquorShop when paying with a FNB or RMB Private Bank card.

Customers are also able to spend their eBucks at these stores. To do this, members simply need to swipe their eBucks card at the till point, with the option of paying in full with eBucks or part-paying in both Rands and eBucks in a single transaction.

Furthermore, this grocery offering complements FNB’s already successful rewards programme where customers can earn up to 2.5% for their everyday shopping and up to 15% back on fuel when paying with their qualifying FNB or RMB Private Bank card; and earn up to 15% back on prepaid airtime when bought through the bank’s electronic channels.

As South Africa’s largest supermarket chain, Checkers and Shoprite has more than 940 stores nationwide. And with some 70% of all South African adults shopping at Checkers and Shoprite stores, FNB’s eBucks Rewards has really extended its reach.

In return for better banking behaviour FNB and RMB Private Bank reward their customers with eBucks and gives them a wide selection of ways to spend these rewards. FNB and RMB Private Bank customers can earn and spend their eBucks at the following outlets: Checkers, Checkers Hyper, Checkers LiquorShop, Shoprite, Shoprite LiquorShop and Usave. All purchases at these outlets qualify, except for transactions at Money Market counters, Computicket, MediRite Pharmacies and cash withdrawals at tills.

eBucks, the rewards programme offered by First National Bank (FNB) and RMB Private Bank, is acknowledged as one of South Africa’s leading rewards programmes with highly active members spending in excess of 80% of the eBucks earned in any given month.
