Absa contactless enabled cards
Over the last decade, change has become the only constant in the global banking industry. Innovation is now at the heart of this critical industry. Absa bank in South Africa has become a leader in this regard, the Absa contactless enabled cards are a testimony to the efforts being made.
These contactless enabled debit cards allow you to make payments of R200 or less with a simple tap against a contactless enabled Point-of-Sale (POS) terminal. These cards are therefore ideal for you if you don’t want to carry cash for small payments, if you want the freedom of making payments by simply tapping your card and when you want a card that is only valid for a limited period of time, but can be renewed.
The maximum transaction value you can make with any contactless card is R200 per transaction. The contactless card is valid for 36 months, and can easily be renewed. If the service provider doesn’t have a contactless card reader, you can still insert the card into a Point of Sale device and enter a PIN to pay. Added benefits include no transaction fees and no charges for declined transactions.
Costs for contactless payments are that a percentage fee is charged every time you load funds on your contactless application. When you transfer funds to your contactless application from your account, the percentage fee is charged on your account.
