How to Choose a Cellphone Contract
Cellphone contracts have increasingly become popular within the South African mobile telecommunications sector. How then can one choose a cellphone contract?
Before you even start looking for a cellphone contract, you need to have some idea of what it is you would be requiring from your contract? The easiest way to do this, is to look at your current monthly usage and determine whether you need more, less, or the same from a new contract.
Your usage consists of the amount of minutes you use, the data you use, and the number of SMS you send. When looking at your monthly minutes, also take into account when you make most of your calls (for example are they during peak or offpeak hours) and whether these calls are mainly to a certain network (such as if you mainly call your spouse), or whether your calls range throughout all the networks. This will help you determine what it is you actually need. There is no use having 1GB of data and 1000 minutes, if you only use 200MB and 400 minutes – these do not accumulate each month, so you are in essence paying for something you will never use.
Once you have determined your monthly usage, then you need to look at the model phone you would like to get. The more expensive phone (i.e. the latest smartphones) will of course have a higher monthly tariff, so keep this in mind when looking around. Finally you should look for the “best combination” of phone model and monthly tariff details that best suits your requirements and budget.
The information above will certainly assist you in scoring the ideal cellphone contract.
