If you qualify for a Student loan at Standard Bank you can use the loan to pay for higher or further education. You can use your student loan to pay for tuition fees, books and equipment that will be used for study purposes.
If you need finance for accommodation, you will need to be a full-time student not living with your parents. Standard Bank also provides you, the student, with s Standard Bank transaction account and debit card so you can pay for what you need.
How do you access the student loan?
The money is paid directly to the institution. If there is a balance, it will be transferred to your Standard Bank transaction account or left in your Student Loan account.
What you need to know about applying for a student loan at Standard Bank:
The loan is offered with a Personal Loan Protection Plan.
You will have to re-apply for each year of registration.
Repayment will be required from full-time students on completion of their studies.
While studying, you will be responsible for the interest portion of the loan.
There is a grace period for capital repayments while completing articles, internships or community service.
Part-time students are required to repay the loan as soon as they start studying.
